These things take time

My plans haven't slowed down at all...however, the pace in which they are put into action has! A million things to get done & no time to do it. I almost wish I were dependant on starting this business; I think I would find the time a little more easily if that were the case. I have decided to set aside a set couple of hours each week as "planning." Things have got to get moving. I doubt its coincidence that things start picking up at work when I have things to do at home.

On top of that, I have put things on hold a little to help Damian with his business, because unlike me and my business he is dependant on his getting up and running. I have been doing a lot of marketing for him, as well as setting things up on the administrative end for him. Because he has a business partner who will remain in Texas, we have got to keep good records, so that we can combine then at the end of the year when it is time to file taxes.

I plan to go to Atlanta and look at the "dents and dings" type store for a file cabinet. That is a necessity! I also need to clean out the office of a lot of junk so that it is an efficient work space.

Oh, I just can't wait until I am my only boss & he is his!

Word of Mouth

The cheapest form of advertisement!

I have been talking to friends and acquaintances to begin getting the word out about my new company. I have several friends who currently own rental houses, and a few more who are looking to begin in the rental business. I am confident that I can count on many of them and their properties to help get me up and running!

Since I am currently a property manager over an apartment community, I will eventually have to give up my position in order to strongly pursue VIIsions Rental. This will definately not be a rash decision. The timing will have to be right, and I have to be in the best position to do so. Though I did not sign a "non-compete" agreement I am sure that if I pursued both, I would be terminated from my current company. Since Georgia is a right to hire and fire state, the would not need a reason to do so.

So I'm planning, which I'm new at. I have sent off for a name reservation with the Secretary of State & have began putting together a business plan.

Where to start

Lack of what to do and where to go from here is definately NOT an issue right now.
* Set up corporation
* Copyright Logo
* Prepare Business Plan
* Prepare Mission Statement
* Shop the market
* Set up fees
* Prepare marketing packet
* Purchase domain
* Contact Attorney
And the list goes on...

So first on the to do list...slogans! What do you think of the following?

(Slogans aimed at reaching real estate owners)
"We're here so you don't have to be"
"Because it's your money to lose"

(Slogans aimed at potential renters)
"Couldn't you see yourself living here?"
"Do you see what I see"

(Slogans for both)
"Property Management Extreme Makeover"
"Property Management just got a whole new look"

Let the blogs begin!

For months a collaboration of thoughts and ideas have been dancing in my head, and today they all began to come together to make sense. I begin this blog today to document the journey of VIIsions Rental Company from day 1, before actual existence!

My name is Stephanie King, and over the last 9 years I have worked in both the legal field and in property management. I have viewed the world of realty from all three sides (lessor, lessee, manager); though 2 through first hand and the third through my father's eyes. I have seen property management at its best and at its worst.

To call me an activist is partially true. I have strong opinions, which often evoke strong feelings. I put every part of me in what I do. I believe in the good of mankind. I believe there are still people in this world who aren't just out for number 1. I am one those. Of course my dream will benefit and support me...that's business, but I don't believe in "at all costs." There are lines in the sand, and though the wind may erase the lines, I still will not cross them.

I will at all times act towards the best interest of my investors, my clients, my residents, and my honor. I will hold high values and stick to those values.

VIIsions Rental Company will provide the customer service you expect, the attention you deserve, and the expertise you depend on!
